How to Use CGM?

Sinocare iCan i3 continuous blood glucometer contains:

  • A quick start guide
  • A transmitter pack
  • A sensor pack.

All of these are for single use. And it’s paired with our iCan CGM app (download from the APP Store or Google Play) for reading and recording.

Guide to Use Sinocare iCan Continuous Glucose Monitoring

  • Download the iCan CGM app on your phone, and register an account. Scan the QR code on the Sensor Pack label or enter the full SN Code.
  • Wash your hands and disinfect the insertion site with alcohol pads.
  • Open the sensor package, firmly press the Sensor Applicator down into the tray (with the blue mark lined up) until you hear a click, and it comes to a stop.
  • Turn the blue gear from the “locked icon” to the “unlocked icon” till you hear a click.
  • Vertically lift the armed Sensor Applicator and place it over the insertion site, then press the middle button until you hear an injection sound.
  • The transmitter will connect with the app, and you can start the sensor.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • Wash your hands and dry them completely. Then, how to use a blood lancet? Remove the cap of the lancing device, insert a new lancet, and adjust the puncture depth.
  • Insert a new test strip into the glucometer. It will power on automatically.
  • Disinfect your finger with an alcohol swab. Press the prepared lancing device against the side of your finger to draw blood.
  • To improve accuracy, wipe away the first blood drop and place the second drop at the strip’s absorbent channel. The blood glucometer will display your blood glucose value in seconds.
  • Push the strip ejector to eject the tested strip automatically.

Glucose Strip Storage

  • Store the test strip vial in a cool, dry place, avoiding moisture, high temperatures, or refrigeration.
  • Close the vial immediately after removing a new test strip.

Glucometer Cleaning

  • Gentlyently wipe the blood glucometer with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  • Carefully clean the test strip insertion port with a dry cotton swab.

Battery and Storage

  • Replace the battery when the low battery indicator appears.
  •  If the blood glucose meter is not used for a long time, remove the battery.
